SESAME Lane opened its 14th child care centre last week when the new Dakabin service on the corner of Old Gympie and Whitehorse roads accepted its first children.
The doors opened on August 6 and the first day ended with an open day celebration, a sausage sizzle and face painting.
The centre has 99 spaces across five classrooms, nursery, toddlers, junior kindergarten, senior kindergarten and kindergarten.
The first child through the doors was 10-month-old Mia Davison.
“Her parents Natalie Rees and Matthew Davison are both extremely happy with the service and Mia has settled into her new childcare so well,” a spokeswoman said.
‘We opened with 10 children and with over 60 on the enquiry list, the rest will follow soon,” the spokeswoman said.
“Spaces are filling fast on our popular days.”
There is also a kitchen, a playground and a community garden where the children will grow vegetables and herbs for the kitchen.
Sesame Lane has applied to the Moreton Bay Regional Council to open its fifth North Lakes centre.
