Scarborough woman to face Redcliffe Magistrates Court on torture, assault charges

A middle-aged Moreton Bay woman will face court Wednesday, alleged to have tortured a man in his 60s at a Scarborough home.
Detectives from Redcliffe Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) charged a 41-year-old woman with seven offences including torture, after a 67-year-old man was located with serious injuries in Scarborough on November 18.
Emergency services were called to the Oxley Avenue property to reports an elderly man required medical assistance.
Upon arrival, the 67-year-old man was located with significant injuries and taken to Redcliffe Hospital for treatment.
The address was declared a crime scene.
A 41-year-old Scarborough woman, who is known to man, was taken into police custody yesterday at a Scarborough Road address.
She has been charged with one count each of torture and serious assault, and five counts of assaults occasioning bodily harm.
Her bail was refused, and she is due to appear at Redcliffe Magistrates Court tomorrow, November 22.
