Wamuran farmer Karen Lindsay has experienced first hand the positive impact the Moreton Bay Food & Wine Festival can have.

Mrs Lindsay who runs Little White Goat Cheese had a stall at the inaugural festival last year.

“We sold out of produce on the second day,” she said.

“It was overwhelming to see so many people passionate about it and supporting local producers.”

SUBSCRIPTION OFFER: 50C A DAY FOR THE FIRST SIX MONTHS (MIN COST $15)

The festival, organised by Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism, is back for a second year from September 7 to 8.

Mrs Lindsay will showcase a range of products including her goat, buffalo, cow and camel cheese in the Local Tastes Pavilion.

Mrs Lindsay used to mainly run cattle on her property.

She fell in love with cheese making after attending a course.

“Two goats turned into about 80,” she said.

“They are all named and all loved.”

The experienced farmer said there was no hiding that “times are tough”.

“We are struggling with the drought and feed prices,” she said.

Mrs Lindsay said the festival offered the chance for people to discover products, like hers, that they may not have known about before.

“People buying these products will help keep businesses going,” she said.

Mrs Lindsay will be one of many local producers showcasing their goods in the Local Tastes Pavilion during the festival.

Celebrity chef Matt Sinclair will also share some of his favourite recipes during the weekend.
