A developer hopes to transform two homes in a suburban street into a two-storey child care big enough for 105 children – but not all parents are happy.
The application for development at 12-14 Marylin Tce, Eatons Hill, was lodged with Moreton Bay Regional Council on November 11.
The site will be surrounded by general residential homes and is opposite the pick-up and drop-off area for Eatons Hill State School.
Public submission are now open and not all parents are happy with the plan.
A post informing the community about the development has gone viral on community social media pages.
“As if the school doesn’t have enough traffic problems, and lack of parking. the council is considering this monster of a centre to be built,” one woman wrote on a community Facebook page.
“I don’t deny people construction, but there has to be a better place to put it.
“We don’t need another daycare within 1km of the three already there.”
Another concerned resident wrote: OMG! What a nightmare this will be for an already busy precinct”.

The centre, if approved, will have just 21 carparks, which is less than the 35 required by council.
It is proposed to create 14 jobs.
The report does not state who will operate the centre, if approved.
Residents have until midnight on December 18 to make submissions regarding the application.
