NSW man dies after a medical episode at the Kallangur Tavern

A man, visiting from New South Wales, has died at a pub north of Brisbane last night.

A man, visiting from New South Wales, has died at the Kallangur tavern, north of Brisbane last night.

Paramedics were called to the tavern after reports of a man in distress.

Despite paramedics best efforts the man, in his 40s could not be saved.

Police attended the scene.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said the incident was being treated as non-suspicious and that the man had passed away as a result of a medical episode.

Witness reported that tavern patrons performed CPR on the man until paramedics arrived.

The tavern was evacuated and closed after the incident.

Community members took to social media to pass on condolences to the family.

Bec Gale wrote: “Thoughts are with the family and the staff who had to witness such a tragic incident”.

Mathew Smith said: “Poor bloke and his family, giving my condolences to the family. RIP to the young bloke that left this place far too early.”

Limmy Katty wrote: “R.I.P. My condolences to this young man’s family and friends. May you spread your wings and fly”.
