A man accused of trespassing and assault occasioning bodily harm after an alleged incident in Redcliffe nearly three years ago is preparing to contest a charge against him.
Rothwell man James Andrew Wall, 28, faced Redcliffe Magistrates Court on April 5, charged with assault occasioning bodily harm while armed/in company, trespass – entering or remaining in dwelling or yard, driving a motor vehicle without a driver's licence (SPER suspended) and breach of bail conditions.
According to court documents, it is alleged that on August 16, 2020 Mr Wall unlawfully entered a Trilby St, Redcliffe address and assaulted a man while in the company of others.
It is also alleged Mr Wall drove a car on Morris Rd, Rothwell on January 14, 2023, while his driver's licence was suspended and that he breached a bail condition on January 26, 2023, when he failed to report to the Redcliffe police station.
Mr Wall’s lawyer Vanessa Ryan said the assault occasioning bodily harm while armed/in company charge would be contested.
Magistrate Mark Bucknall adjourned the matter and ordered Mr Wall to reappear on June 21, for a hearing for the assault occasioning bodily harm while armed/in company charge and a plea for the other charges.
