A “SPECTACULAR” home has broken a suburb record previously set in 2014.

The North Lakes home at 16 Kennedy Court sold pre-auction for $1,550,000, easily eclipsing the $1.2 million sale of five years ago.

SUBSCRIPTION DEAL: $1 A WEEK FOR THE FIRST 12 WEEKS

Sales agent and Ray White North Lakes principal Darren Suhle said cracking the $1.5 million mark was a big deal for the suburb.

“The luxury market in North Lakes has always been great but the majority of houses are in the high 700s to 900s, so a plus $1 million house is a bit rarer,” he said.

“And there’s no more land left for people to build homes, so the market is limited by what is available.

“But the whole estate is quite popular; we have seen good demand across the housing spectrum.

“Even with talk of a slowdown in the market we’re still doing the same numbers.”

Mr Suhle said the property was a one-off design by McCarthy Homes, making it not only unique, but the most superior house in North Lakes.

“The home is less than ten years old and the vendors spared no expense when it came to the designing of this wonderful and contemporary family residence,” said Mr Suhle.

“From the oversized marble kitchen island to the timber throughout the property, the design really did deliver on producing that ‘wow’ factor for the street.

“A local family that lived down the road bought the property as it ticked all the boxes for what they were looking for.”

The real estate agent said it took some doing finalising the sale.

“The house was a little longer on the market than we would have liked to have,” said Mr Suhle.

“It took lots of people through the house and marketing but we got there in the end.

“It’s a good sale to have and certainly good for the owners.”
