Moreton mum Kara Jade Pratt in court over drug, driving charges

A Moreton Bay mother has faced court north of Brisbane on a host of drug, driving and other charges.

A court north of Brisbane has heard mention of a Deception Bay mother’s lengthy list of charges, some stretching back to 2021.

Kara Jade Pratt, 36, appeared in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on February 23, 2024, charged with six counts of breaching bail condition, a count of contravention of a probation order, three counts of possess utensils or pipes, two counts fail to properly dispose of syringe and two counts of possess property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence.

She also faces charges relating to driving without a licence, driving an uninsured and unregistered vehicle, among other charges.

The court heard some of the charges had been in the system since 2021.

Pratt’s lawyer Eleanor Meany requested a three-month adjournment.

“We’ve been communicating with the directions and they’ve indicated they’re still in the process of deciding what to do with the matters that have been transferred up,” Ms Meany said.

Magistrate James Blanch adjourned the matter to May 29, 2024.
