Residents on a suburban Brisbane street where a man with a knife wound to his neck pleaded at a doorstep for help have recalled the bizarre scenes from overnight.
Emergency services were called to Kirwan Street, Keperra at 10.20pm last night, after a 32-year-old-man with stab wounds to his neck and leg, knocked on a resident’s door for help.
A neighbour said they heard a loud commotion in the street shortly after 10pm.
“I heard a lot of yelling and thought at first it was just kids in the area,” they said.
“I then heard somebody yell ‘call an ambulance’ and that’s when I realised it was more serious.”
The man was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition.
