‘Man shot’: Police close Caboolture Starbucks carpark

Locals north of Brisbane have reported hearing gunshots from a Starbucks carpark just metres away from homes overnight.

A man has suffered a gun shot wound following an incident outside a Starbucks cafe north of Brisbane overnight.

According to police, a man received a gunshot wound to his ankle while in the car park outside Starbucks Caboolture on Lower King St about 9.35pm Tuesday.

“A 37-year-old man was later treated for a non-life-threatening injury to his ankle,” police said.

“No complaints have been received in relation to this matter however investigations are ongoing.”

The incident, which happened close to a number of residential streets, had locals talking this morning with some reporting hearing gunshots and sirens.

Moreton Bay resident Sandra Kleidon took to social media saying police had closed off the carpark — which connects with a 7-Eleven service station — about 10pm.

“Police are there with the carpark taped off,” she said.

Her post took off with more than 150 comments.

“Oh I thought I heard a gun shot. I live three houses down from Starbucks,” said one woman.

“Omg what is hell is going on this is just too shocking to comprehend,” Jan Maree commented.

“I think there was a shooting not 100% [sic], hopefully everyone is okay,” Chey Jess said.
