The first Anzac Day without Covid restrictions since 2020 is set to be one of the biggest as people plan to remember the fallen. Here’s your complete guide to commemorating Anzac Day in southeast Queensland, including road closures.

Tens of thousands of southeast Queenslanders are expected to attend the first Anzac Day in two years without Covid restrictions.

An RSL LifeCare/YouGov survey found 70 per cent of people plan to commemorate Anzac Day this year in some way, including 22 per cent who plan to attend a march or community event.

BRISBANE ROAD CLOSURES

A number of roads will be closed in Brisbane on Monday due to Anzac Day services and marches that will be happening throughout the city.

The following roads will be closed from 2am to 5am for the Anzac Day Dawn Service in Anzac Square:

Adelaide Street, between Edward Street and Creek Street,

Ann Street, between Edward Street and Creek Street,

Edward Street, between Ann Street and Rowes Lane,

Hutton Lane, between Ann Street and Adelaide Street,

Albert Street, between Burnett Lane and Adelaide Street.

Further road closures will be in place from 4am to 3pm for Anzac services, including:

Adelaide Street, between North Quay and Wharf Street

Albert Street, between Adelaide Street and Charlotte Street

Burnett Lane, between George Street and Albert Street (accessed from Adelaide Street)

Charlotte Street, between George Street and Edward Street

Creek Street, between Ann Street and Elizabeth Street

Eagle Lane, between Queen Street and Creek Street

Edison Lane, between Creek Street and Elizabeth Street

Edward Street, between Ann Street and Charlotte Street

Elizabeth Street off ramps from Riverside Expressway

Elizabeth Street, between William Street and Creek Street

The Queensland Police Service will hold traffic at the intersection of Ann Street and Creek Street for short intervals during the parade.

Parking restrictions will also come into effect from 7pm on Sunday night and will last until 11.59pm on Monday.

The CityLink Cycleway will be closed on Anzac day until 3pm.

Barriers will block the Cycleway between William Street at Victoria Bridge, Elizabeth Street at Creek Street and Edward Street at Charlotte Street.

Riders are being advised by Brisane City Council to use the Goodwill Bridge or Kurilpa Bridge as an alternative route.
