THE Redcliffe Tigers have suffered through seven major floods in just over 10 years.
Every time it rains, their Rothwell grounds go under but there is now a glimmer of hope.
Moreton Bay Regional Council today announced it had plans to relocate the club to a new site at Nathan Rd, Rothwell.
Mayor Allan Sutherland revealed the plans at the club’s family fun day, which also celebrated the reopening of the clubhouse at its current home ground.
The move to Nathan Rd will still be three years away, with planning to happen in the next 12 months and two years allowed for construction.
The new location will have enough room for two fields and follows MBRC’s $10 million precinct at Burpengary, which has attracted AFL trial matches.
The Redcliffe Tigers is the junior club of Brisbane Lions new recruit Liam Dawson.
