A family was left stranded on the Bruce Highway on Monday morning as their car went up in flames — the second to ignite north of Brisbane during the Easter long weekend.
About 10.40am today, a white Volkswagen Golf was seen ablaze on the Bruce Highway, near Burpengary.
It took Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) less than 20 minutes to bring the fire under control as Easter travellers looked on.
The family who had been travelling in the car was spotted a couple hundred metres away from the fire and were reportedly uninjured.
It was the second car fire in the area in less than a day.
Yesterday another car was seen on fire on the M1 near Caboolture.
The car, believed to be a red Holden, was completely engulfed in flames.
The driver of the vehicle was understood to be unharmed.
