Five firefighting crews called to extinguish blaze at Deception Bay home

Police are investigating a house fire, which broke out at about midnight.

It took five firefighting crews an hour to extinguish the blaze at a house fire north of Brisbane this morning.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said they arrived at Joan St, Deception Bay at about 11.40pm.

By the time firefighters arrived the house was well engulfed.

Luckily everyone at the home had already evacuated.

Firefighters had the blaze extinguished by 12.40am.

Queensland fire investigators and police will be on scene today to determine the cause of the fire.
