The grieving family of the man who died after an alleged altercation at a Caboolture hotel last night has released a photo of the man.
Luke Jay Kenworthy, 49, died at the Sundowner Hotel Motel last night.
Earlier, police alleged Mr Kenworthy was punched in the face and subsequently fell to the ground.
“As far as I’m aware these two don’t know each other,” Senior Sergeant Deegan said.
“The football wouldn’t have been long finished at that stage.”
Senior Sergeant Deegan said paramedics attempted to revive the man “for at least 30 minutes” but he died at the hotel.
Mr Kenworthy’s partner was reportedly at the scene, and was inconsolable as the police investigations got under way.
“Baby I love you,” the woman yelled before being taken home by police.
Twenty-nine-year-old Caboolture man Joel Michael James Smith has been charged following the incident and was today represented in court on one count of unlawful striking causing death.
Mr Smith’s matter was adjourned until next Tuesday, November 24.
He will remain in custody until then.
