Some of the top A-League stars are set to play in Redcliffe next month.
Brisbane Roar and Melbourne City will go head-to -head at Dolphin Stadium in an FFA Cup Round of 32 clash.
It will be the second time the stadium has been used for an FFA Cup game, after Peninsula Power played Melbourne City there last year.
Roar managing director David Pourre said the club wanted to play the game at a local club.
“We looked at suitable grounds across Queensland and there were a few stadiums to chose from,” Pourre said.
He said the upgraded Dolphin Stadium ticked all the boxes, including plenty of parking and access to public transport.
“It is exciting to bring the game out there,” Pourre said.
He said the club had a great relationship with the grassroot football clubs in the area, including Peninsula Power.
“It will give football fans from the north side of Brisbane and up to the Sunshine Coast an opportunity to come and show their support,” Pourre said.
“There was quite a crowd there for the last game and we expect it to be bigger this time.”
Brisbane Roar and the other A-League sides are in their pre-season.
“It will be a test to see which team is fitter,” Pourre said.
Roar are yet to win the FFA Cup.
“We are saving a spot on our mantelpiece for that piece of silverware,” Pourre said.
The game will kick off at 7.30pm on August 7.
Tickets will be available at Oztix next week. It is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
