Deception Bay Woolworths to reduce opening hours to focus on deliveries to vulnerable residents
A Woolworths store north of Brisbane will reduce its opening hours from tomorrow so it can operate as a priority delivery hub – providing extra support for the elderly and disabled.

Deception Bay Woolworths will only be open to the public from 9am-6pm from tomorrow.
The supermarket, located inside the Market Square Shopping Centre, will operate as a priority delivery hub, outside of the opening hours.
“This important change will help us provide extra home deliveries to the elderly, people with disability, those with compromised immunity and people in mandatory isolation,” a message sent to customers read.

“So that our team can fulfil more orders for these most vulnerable customers products from the deli, in-store bakery and meat and seafood counters will no longer be available for delivery orders.”
It follows the State Government today announcing a further crackdown on those in mandatory isolation and quarantine.
Last week Woolworths announced that 41 stores across the country would reduce trading hours to 11am to 6pm to support prioritising the delivery of groceries to the homes of vulnerable customers.

Woolworths Group CEO Brad Banducci said; “At Woolworths we are focused on supporting the most vulnerable in the community during these challenging times.
“To help support getting basic food and essentials to those that need it most, our teams have been doing everything they can to scale up online and home deliveries to the elderly, people with disabilities or those in mandatory self-isolation.”
