CSR Limited has applied to vary the use of land at its Warner/Brendale quarry to establish a housing development.
The site, which adjoins the Mordar Investments property, is situated in the Warner Investigation Area (WIA) which is currently subject to Moreton Bay Regional Council’s proposed major planning amendments.
However, a council spokesman said CSR’s proposed development was not contingent on the ammendments and would be assessed under the current planning scheme.
CSR is seeking to change the zoning of the site to General Residential — Next Generation Neighbourhood Precinct, as well as Recreation and Open Space.
The company said its plan for the site was “generally consistent” with the WIA revised Concept Structure Plan from December 2017.
It said the development would link with the housing estates north of Kremzow Rd, and the southern portion would provide a green space corridor connecting with Conflagration Creek.
Access to the development is proposed at Kremzow Rd and Swan Pde, and from Old North Rd adjacent to the powerline easement.
The site is mapped as a Priority Koala Assessable Development Area and contains high and medium value bushland.
CSR must apply to change the koala habitat and bushland mapping.
