“Council is in the process of closing all these facilities with closures to come into effect as of midnight tonight following new restrictions announced by the Federal Government overnight to minimise the spread of COVID-19,” the spokesperson said.

On Sunday the National Cabinet revised down its 10-person limit on public gatherings to just two people, with the exception of those living in the same household.

People aged 70 or older have been advised to stay indoors unless going out for exercise or fresh air.

“While facilities are closed, residents can be assured that Moreton Bay Regional Council will continue to deliver essential services during the coronavirus outbreak,” the spokesperson said.
