CONSTRUCTION has started on the latest multi-storey waterfront development at Bribie Island.
Chelsea Views will be a five-storey unit block with 16 two-three bedroom apartments, a 50sq m commercial space and car park on Benabrow Ave, Bongaree.
Knobel and Davis (north) and Chelsea Views marketing agent Keith Wilkins said it was the first multi-level building to be constructed at Bribie in years.
“Chelsea Views is very visible as you come onto the island so it was very important to have a real landmark quality building at the entry to the island,” he said.
“The units are mainly focused to the owner occupier segment of the market looking to downsize from their bigger homes into a quality apartment with minimal maintenance yet still being in a very central location on the island.
“However, this product will certainly appeal to a wide audience including potential investors and the holiday market.
“We do find that northside Brisbane buyers are quite active in the marketplace, purchasing property for their own use during holidays and weekends while still having it leased to the holiday makers while not being used by the owners.”
The project is due to be finished by mid-December this year with new residents moving in by January 2019.
The first floor concrete was poured yesterday.
“Just to get to the first level has used 70 tonnes of reinforcing steel,” Mr Wilkins said.
“Once the first podium level is completed then the project construction will move ahead quite quickly over the remaining floors.
“It is certainly an exciting venture to be involved with.”
Chelsea Views has been designed by Mark Williams Architects and is being built by Midson Constructions from Brisbane.
