Chloe Lee: 10-year-old remembered after tragic crash claims her life
A “delightful” 10-year-old Caboolture girl is being mourned by loved ones after she died from injuries sustained in a horror car crash in Western Australia.

A Caboolture girl who loved dancing, karate and her friends has been remembered as “delightful” by her school following her tragic death this week.
Chloe Lee, 10, died Wednesday following a serious crash in Western Australia Sunday morning.
Chloe, along with her entire family, was flown to hospital in Perth after the single-car crash in the town of Williams, some 170km south east of Perth.
Her parents Sommar, 42, and Geoff Lee, 44, were also seriously injured while Chloe’s little brother Declan, 8, sustained numerous cuts and bruises.
Chloe was left in a critical condition after suffering serious brain and spinal injuries and had been on life support.
A GoFundMe campaign launched earlier this week has so far raised $54,000 for the family who hope to bring Chloe back to her home town of Caboolture for her funeral.
Friend Barbara Wilkinson, who launched the extraordinary fundraiser, said Mr and Mrs Lee had earlier this week endured a heartbreaking state of limbo as they awaited medical clearance to be able to travel to the children’s hospital caring for Chloe to “kiss goodbye to their baby girl”.
Western Australian Police confirmed Chloe died on Wednesday.
The news has left communities across the country in mourning, with the family having been well-loved in Caboolture, Townsville and their new home of Western Australia where they had recently moved.
The family had been well-loved members of Caboolture-based St Peter’s Catholic Primary School, until their big move interstate early this year.
St Peter’s Catholic Primary School Principal Peter Surawski said the school communitiy “continues to pray for the Lee family and their many friends following the tragic events of recent days”.
“The Lee family were much-loved members of our school community at Caboolture for five years,” Mr Surawski said.
“Chloe was a delightful student. She was gentle, caring and well-liked by her classmates.
“Declan is a quiet, kind young man who still has many friends at the school. Like his sister, Declan was a popular classmate.”
He said Chloe and Declans’ parents Sommar and Geoff “strengthen and brighten any school community in which they’re involved”.
“Sommar worked extremely hard for our Parents and Friends’ organisation, volunteering many hours of her time for our school.
“Many members of our school community have reached out with offers of support for the Lee family.
“As a Catholic school community, we pray for a speedy recovery for Declan, Sommar and Geoff. They will always have the support of St Peter’s.
“And we pray for eternal rest for Chloe. May God’s light shine upon her.”
An array of people have people have paid tribute to the little girl, who was a keen dancer and was learning karate.
Caboolture-based KC Dance Academy founder Katrina Crowe shared her grief: “You will always be in my heart Chloe - keep dancing in heaven - fly high sweet Chloe bear x,” she said.
Chloe’s friends in the Western Australia-based Karate-Do Australia Wood Dojo Mandurah said her absence was felt across their community and shard a haunting photo taken just days before Sunday’s crash.
“In memory of a beautiful little girl, Chloe Lee who passed away following a devastating car accident.
“Thinking of her parents and brother who are badly injured.
“Chloe, Declan and Sommar are all in this photo taken just one week ago... happy smiles, loving life and touching all our lives.
“There will be empty places in our dojo today.
“We are better people for having known you Chloe, Declan and Sommar.”
