After an epic two-week turn around, comparable to an episode of The Block, Caboolture’s newest club is ready to open its doors on Monday.
Sports Central Caboolture will replace the Caboolture RSL – which was left with no option but to fold after taking a financial hit during the COVID-19 pandemic.
CSC Group will take over the venue and open its new modern sports bar on Monday at 10am.
In the two weeks since the RSL closed the venue has undergone a modest facelift including new carpets, fresh lick of paint, new furniture, walls knocked down to create more space, signage, frosted glass, new televisions and revamped cafe.
It now features a bistro, cafe, gaming lounge with 70 machines, sports lounge, multiple bars, a TAB and three function areas.
The majority of the Caboolture RSL staff have been re-employed by the CSC Group, including long-time staff member Deborah Hayward.
“I absolutely love my job, loved the RSL, love the community, patrons, my work family; all of this is very dear to me,” commented Deborah, Central’s Foyer Supervisor.
“Now coming across to Sports Central I am just overwhelmed that I’ve been taken on board as well and it’s very exciting, and I can’t wait to start this new era of this beautiful club (Central).”
Venue Manager Ben Connors said he was impressed by how excited the staff are to get going.
He said the venue would be different to CSC Group’s existing venues including the Caboolture Sports Club.
“Nice intimate venue here and our focus is going to be on live sport and entertainment, nice casual meals and a bit of a fun feel,” Mr Connors said.
Sports Central Caboolture will be screening all the NRL and AFL grand final action along with State of Origin, UFC and Bledisloe Cup games.
There will be weekly promotions, trivia nights and live entertainment.
The Central Bistro will be open four nights a week for dinner and two days for lunch – serving up classic pub favourites such as chicken schnitzels, fettuccine carbonara, steaks and more.

Grounds Cafe will be open seven days a week and offer a range of grab and go, toasted sandwiches, pastries, wraps and more.
The cafe will also feature the independent coffee brand Sunday Collab, known for its eco-friendly, rich, lively structure and mellow body.
