Bystanders and lifeguards drag drowning snorkeller out of the water
A rescue chopper has airlifted a man from Tangalooma Beach after he was snorkeling near the wrecks and got into trouble with paramedics and lifeguards treating him on the sand.

A man snorkelling on Moreton Island has been airlifted off Tangalooma Beach following a swimming incident this morning.
The man, in his 40s or 50s, was close to drowning at 11:52am near the wrecks when lifeguards and bystanders sprung into action and dragged him out of the water.
Paramedics arrived just after noon and treated the man in a serious but stable condition, before he was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital at 1.20pm.
