Aaron Daniel Mitchelson Huckel: Man accused of murdering Emily Thompson faces Pine Rivers Magistrates Court
A brief of evidence against a man accused of killing his girlfriend in Brisbane before dumping her body on the Sunshine Coast has been ordered as police move on their case against him.

The man accused of murdering his teenage girlfriend and moving her body has faced court for the second time since the 18-year-old’s body was discovered last weekend.
Aaron Daniel Mitchelson Huckel, 19, of Kallangur, faced Pine Rivers Magistrates Court Monday, October 31, via video link charged with the murder of his ex-girlfriend, 18-year-old Emily Nicole Thompson, and misconduct with a corpse.
Mr Huckel was represented by duty lawyer, Brendan Whelan.
Mr Whelan told the court Legal Aid had been granted for Mr Huckel on October 25, and that lawyers would be meeting with the accused on November 2.
Magistrate Hennessy ordered a brief of evidence, and advised that the brief should be made available before Christmas.
Huckel made no attempt at bail and was remanded in custody. The matter was adjourned for a committal mention on January 9, 2023.
Ms Thompson, a Petrie Year 12 student was reported missing by her parents on Saturday night after she failed to return home.
Police will allege Huckel murdered Ms Thompson last Saturday evening, October 22, after they met at the car park on Rob Akers Sports Reserve, Strathpine about 4.30pm.
Her body was found in bushland several hours later in Nambour on the Sunshine Coast.
