A Rothwell man was one of four Division 1 winners in Saturday night’s Gold Lotto

A southeast Queensland truck driver won more than $1 million in Saturday night’s Gold Lotto. He says he plans to use the money to make a lifelong dream a reality.

A Rothwell man has won more than $1 million in Saturday’s Gold Lotto.

A Rothwell truck driver is still struggling to believe he will never have to make another rental or mortgage payment again after winning more than $1 million in Saturday’s Gold Lotto.

The man, who wished to remain anonymous, bought his QuickPick entry online.

He was one of four to win the division one prize nationally – with each winner taking home $1,104,264.47.

The man was lost for words when a Golden Casket official informed him of his win.

“Holy hell,” he said.

“Did I win one million dollars?

“Are you kidding me? You must be joking.

“I don’t know what to say.

“I didn’t even think to check my ticket over the weekend.

“I can’t believe this is happening to me right now. I haven’t even been playing Lotto for that long.

“This is unbelievable.”

The Rothwell man said he planned to use his “life-changing” prize to buy himself a home.

“I’ve been trying really hard to save to buy a house,” he said.

“So I will certainly be buying myself a house and paying off a few other bills.

“This will really change my life. Not having to worry about rent or a mortgage will be massive.

“I really can’t believe it.”

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4023 on Saturday 8 February 2020 were 17, 19, 44, 24, 36 and 38, while the supplementary numbers were 2 and 39.
