A developer has lodged plans for a popular drive-through coffee chain to join a servo and two fast food outlets at a newly developed precinct north of Brisbane.

BDR No. 5 Pty Ltd Tte has lodged an application with the City of Moreton Bay to develop a Zarraffa’s Cafe at 80 Morayfield Rd, Caboolture South.

The Zarraffa’s Cafe would be a drive through service only with no internal customer seating and operate 24 hours a day.

The cafe would join the newly constructed tenants EG Fuel, Oporto and Carl’s Jr at the same address.

The cafe would have 60sqm of gross floor area with nine vehicle queuing spaces and two remote order points in the drive through.

The Zarraffa’s drive through entry and exit would be via the internal driveway in the existing development of Oporto and Carl's Jr.

A new footpath connection to Frank Street was proposed.

The proposal required reconfiguring the overall layout to provide for the building and dual vehicle drive-through.

“Whilst the proposed changes result in an increase to the scale of the development as currently approved, this increase is not considered to be substantial in nature, given that a service station and 3 x food and drink outlets have already been approved on the site,” the application said.

“The proposed service station is intended to complement and be considered ancillary to the proposed numerous residential development applications under the neighbourhood plan.

“These residential developments will require commercial, retail and community facilities to service their needs and requirements.

The proposed service station and other tenancies will provide a necessary service to this future residential area”.

Carl's Jr and Oporto both opened at 80 Morayfield Rd in March.
