A MAN who allegedly smashed up cars with a baseball bat at a Brisbane servo has been described as “homicidal” in court mental health reports.

Leonard David Toalei’s matter was briefly mentioned at Richlands Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old is facing a raft of charges, including going armed with intent to cause fear, wilful damage and dangerous operation of a vehicle while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance.

Police allege Toalei was spotted doing doughnuts in his car at the Sunnybank Hills United Service Station on June 17.

After colliding with a bollard, he allegedly used a baseball bat to smash the windows of his own car and another parked car nearby.

Toalei then allegedly used the bat to smash the servo’s glass doors and enter the station.

He was arrested and treated at hospital for glass cuts.

Defence solicitor Brittany White said a bail application would not be made and asked for an adjournment.

Magistrate Stuart Shearer said Toalei “wasn’t going anywhere”, noting his mental health assessment said he was “homicidal”.

“Apparently he’s threatened to kill the mental health nurse as well, so I’m told,” Magistrate Shearer said.

His case was adjourned to August 11.
