Pair arrested after gunpoint carjacking on millionaire’s row
A couple in one of Brisbane’s wealthiest and most beautiful streets are in shock after a gunman stole their luxury car this morning.

Two people have been charged over the terrifying robbery of a couple at gunpoint in one of Brisbane’s most sought-after and gracious streets.
The couple was threatened with a long-arm weapon and had their luxury Audi stolen outside their Laurel Ave, Chelmer, home on Tuesday last week.
A woman, 19, from Eagleby was charged with stealing and unlawful use of a car. She was remanded in custody, to reappear in Southport Magistrates Court on December 11.

A Crestmead man, 28, was charged with two counts of armed robbery with violence, and with dangerous operation of, and unlawful use of, a motor vehicle.
He was remanded in custody and will reappear in the same court on November 26.
Police allege the Chelmer residents pulled up in their carport about 7.15am when the 64-year-old woman was approached by a man who opened the door and brandished a gun.
He demanded the car keys while also threatening her 67-year-old husband, who handed over the keys.

The gunman fled northbound on Laurel Ave at high speed in their grey 2019 Audi RS4, a make which sells for $130,000 to $140,000.
Officers in the police helicopter, POLAIR, spotted the Audi about 9pm that day on the M1 at the Gold Coast, still travelling at high speed. they tracked it to an Ashmore address at 9.20pm when the occupants allegedly tried to flee but were caught by police.
The couple was not injured.
Laurel Ave has several times been voted Brisbane’s best street.
It is graced by huge camphor laurels which form a unique green archway along the riverfront street.
