A 21-year-old Browns Plains man who allegedly robbed a pizza delivery driver with a gel blaster and stole a car at Grand Plaza, has been denied bail in a Logan court.
Zackary Tai Agoston appeared in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on February 6, 2023 on two charges of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two charges of robbery with actual violence while in company and one charge of enter premises.
Police allege Mr Agoston threatened an 18-year-old pizza delivery driver at Grand Plaza, Browns Plains on February 4, 2023 and stole his car.
Police also allege Mr Agoston stole a car and a packet of cigarettes while armed with a knife at a Heritage Park convenience store on the same day.
Nobody was injured during the alleged robbery.
The court heard the Toowoomba-raised father of three was on parole from a 12-month prison sentence on September 14, 2022 for unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
Magistrate Terry Duroux refused bail and said Mr Agoston had a fairly significant criminal history.
“The offence occurs while he is on parole and there is an alleged escalation of behaviour,” he said.
“There is no condition I can impose that would ameliorate the risk of this young man.”
The matter will be heard again in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on April 5 this year.
