LOGAN YouTuber superstar Lachlan Power has been voted Australia and New Zealand’s Favourite Content Creator at the prestigious Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles this week.
The 23-year-old, who this year chalked up 10 million YouTube subscribers, faced off some tough competition in the Favourite Content Creator category, a new award for Australia and New Zealand audiences.
He was in direct competition with 19-year-old trickshot legend Jed Hockin from Toowoomba, whose videos went viral after 60 million people viewed them including Real Madrid. There were also two entries from New Zealand and one from Melbourne.
DJ Khaled hosted the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards with special guests Will Smith, Adam Sandler, and Naomi Scott from Disney’s Aladdin.
Proud dad, Logan City councillor Darren Power said his son did not travel to LA for the awards but tuned in from his Logan base.
Cr Power said the awards were a “big deal” as they gauged popularity across the world. He said Lachlan had worked hard and risen to the top because he was “good at what he does and dedicated”.
Lachlan, who rose to fame presenting YouTube shows about Fortnite and Minecraft was acknowledged with other Nickelodeon winners this year including Ellen DeGeneres who was named Favourite TV Host for her Ellen’s Game of Games and Robert Downey Jr whose Tony Stark won him Favourite Superhero.
