The 22-year-old was caught attempting to supply 75g of methamphetamine to three different people on three different occasions between May and June of last year.

The court heard Mr Gibson-Lunson was on parole when police found evidence of drug transaction on his phone.

Mr Gibson-Lunson’s lawyer, Gavin Webber, said the defendant also had a history of using ice and cannabis.

“His mug shots show him gaunt, covered in sores and just a shell of the person he used to be,” he said.

The court also heard Mr Gibson-Lunson he was unable to find a job because of his vaccination status.

“Someone’s worldview is that they can use ice but not get vaccinated, honestly give me the strength, now I’ve heard the lot,” Judge David Kent said.

Judge Kent also warned the defendant of the impact continuing to use or supply drugs could have on his partner and four children.

“You’re partners asking you to have nothing more to do with drugs,” he said.

“You have a guiding light with your partner and children, I hope you treasure that relationship it’s an extremely stable thing in your life.”

Judge Kent also encouraged Mr Gibson-Lunson to take steps to improve his life.

“Get some education, you’ll then get a job, and life will be better,” he said.

“We went to school, we then went to university and that’s why we’re here, and that’s why, to an extent, you’re there.”

Mr Gibson-Lunson was convicted and received 12 months imprisonment with immediate parole.
