Wait over for Chatswood shoppers who now have a carpark

A BUSY suburban shopping centre is back at full capacity after a new carpark opened this month.

A new carpark at Chatswood Shopping Centre is making life easier for Springwood shoppers.

THE next development phase of the Chatswood Central Shopping Centre at Springwood is set to take off this month with building set to start on additional tenancies in two new buildings between the centre and the new carpark.

The redevelopment of the shopping centre hit its first major milestone last month with the completion of a new dual-level carpark.

All 140 spaces in the carpark opened before Christmas and access to the centre from Magellan Rd reopened.

Development manager Tomas Lancini said the construction team had pulled out all stops to complete the carpark before Christmas.

“We were scheduled to finish this stage by the end of December, but we were really hopeful to open the carpark before Christmas,” Mr Lancini said.

“It’s a huge credit to our team that they’ve been able to complete the job slightly ahead of schedule.”

Customers at Woolworths and using shopping trolleys were told to park on the upper level for the time being. A travelator will be added this year to provide easy trolley access to both carpark levels.
