Two-day crime spree in Logan as police kept busy with car thefts, break-ins and drugs

Despite the call for people to stay at home during the coronavirus, Logan Police have been busier than usual, arresting 15 people over two days this week.

DESPITE the call for people to stay at home during the coronavirus, Logan Police have been busier than usual and arrested 15 people on a total of 64 charges on Wednesday and Thursday this week.

The charges were for stealing cars, breaking into houses, robbery, robbery, fraud, assault, drug offences and stealing.

Police were called to the carpark at Hungry Jack’s at Meadowbrook on Tuesday night after a group of youths were doing burnouts.

A 32-year-old Moreton Vale man was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and is due to face the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on April 9.

A 23-year-old Durack man will face the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on May 20, charged with armed robbery.

Logan officers said they were being pushed to the maximum to keep the community safe and asked everyone to stay home.
