Three car pile up after man in his 70s slams into Beaudesert business
A man in his 70s is in hospital after hitting the accelerator instead of his brakes, ploughing into two other cars and a shopfront.

A man in his 70s is in hospital after hitting the accelerator instead of his brakes, crashing into two other cars and a business in the Gold Coast hinterland.
At approximately 1pm this afternoon police and ambulance services were called to Brisbane and William streets, in Beaudesert, for a multi-vehicle crash.
Police said a man in his 70s was approaching the intersection when he “hit his accelerator instead of his brakes”.
According to local police, the elderly man’s car then hit the vehicle in front of him, and then the car in front of that car.
Police said he then made a sharp left turn, which his how his car left the road and ran into a planter box and the wall of a Beaudesert business.
Fortunately, minimal damage was done to Workways Beaudesert. The car only scraped the brick exterior.
Beaudesert Police said the man was entrapped in his car before being removed and taken to Beaudesert Hospital. The extent of his injuries are unknown, however police said he was in a state of shock.
Three other patients were treated on scene and declined transport to hospital.
Beaudesert Police had to close the intersection and divert traffic elsewhere.
Investigations are continuing.
