A SIX-month undercover operation targeting some of the largest drug dealing areas in the southeast has ended with eight arrests, a massive haul of drugs and a police taser device.
GREENBANK DEATH PUSHES TOLL TO 50
Police searched nine properties in Brisbane and Logan believed to be linked to a drug syndicate and along with the taser found a suspected stolen luxury car valued at $80,000 and $150,000 in stolen machinery.
The raid also uncovered 14kg of cannabis, 360g of amphetamine, 26g of cocaine, MDMA, and a whopping $146,230 in cash.
Logan Major and Organised Crime Squad officers with officers from Logan District Police executed search warrants before charging the eight with 52 offences.
A 28 year-old Springwood man was charged with trafficking in dangerous drugs and receiving tainted property.
He was due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
Logan Major and Organised Crime Squad acting detective senior sergeant Gavin Pascoe said the seven others were bailed to appear in over the next few months.
“This protracted operation focused on disrupting and dismantling the illegal activities of this local syndicate,” he said.
“The district will continue to run these types of operations to target the trafficking and supply of drugs to stop crime and make our community safer.”
