A stolen car smashed into a busy Logan pharmacy, leaving “glass everywhere’’ before fleeing police with stolen prescription medication early yesterday.
Police are investigating the break and enter of a Daisy Hill pharmacy yesterday at 4.10am (Monday, May 8).
They alleged two stolen cars were driven to the Allamanda Drive pharmacy at a local shopping centre.
One of the stolen cars was rammed the front entry. Police said there was “glass everywhere’’.
They alleged an unknown number of people then entered the business and stole prescription medication before the group fled in the two cars.
Police tracked them before the cars evaded officers at Station Rd, Loganlea by allegedly driving in a dangerous manner.
No one has yet been charged and investigations continue.
Locals have taken to social media to share their frustration, saying such incidents happened every Sunday night or Monday morning.
“It’s so frustrating and the fact they are doing it Sunday night, Monday morning every time and police haven’t clued onto the pattern... I feel sorry for the bakery people (nearby), it must be terrifying for them,” a Daisy Hill local said.
It is understood staff from a nearby bakery witnessed Monday’s incident.
“I am very close to all this. Our shop has been broken in four times in 18 months... right opposite the pharmacy,” another said.
