A Logan wizard cafe and merchandise shop is set to close after a tough battle with the rising costs of importing licensed goods.
The Cauldrons Cafe & Emporium owner, Shaun Fuller, announced the closure on Facebook over the weekend.
“It is with great sadness that The Cauldrons Cafe & Emporium announces the closing of its doors at Springwood,” the post read.
“The long-time effects of viable retail in this post-Covid space has proven a difficult venture, and though not for a lack of trying and consistently trying to adapt and earn customer satisfaction, it is something the team here can no longer maintain.
“We have loved getting to know everyone, making friends and seeing all those new and returning faces day in and day out, and this has certainly not been a decision made lightly.”
The Cauldrons Cafe & Emporium opened on July 25 in 2021 by Shaun and Gabriel Fuller at Slacks Creek.
The Emporium, which largely survives off the sales of Harry Potter-themed merchandise, including wand sets, Pop Vinyl collectables, Noble Collection items and costumes, hit a wall in the recent months.
“Rising costs to import licensed merchandise is getting expensive due to the current world economy and poor exchange rates,” Mr Fuller said.
The team announced The Cauldrons Cafe & Emporium would officially close on January 31.
Mr Fuller said although they were not leaving with heavy hearts, customers could still visit the store to find some fantastic deals.
“As we unfortunately move towards the end of this chapter, we will be having a closing down sale where select stock will be up to 70 per cent off,” Mr Fuller said.
“There’s no better time than right now to come in and purchase from our range.
“Keep an eye on our website and make sure you get in store as quick as possible to snap up our closing deals.”
Mr Fuller said the time away would give them a chance to figure out their next step.
“We do hope to come back at some point in some capacity, so keep an eye on our Facebook page for any future announcement,” he said.
“Please stay friends and fans of us on Facebook and Instagram as we will still be posting, and though the doors will shut, any remaining stock will be sold on our online store until we have exhausted our range.”
