THE Souths Logan Magpies will line up against familiar faces this evening when they take on the Brisbane Broncos in a trial at Davies Park.
With the likes of Corey Parker, Sam Thaiday and Darius Boyd in England for the World Club Challenge, the club’s Brisbane Broncos-aligned players — Sam Scarlett, Caleb Timu, Joe Boyce and Jamayne Isaako — have been named to line up in Broncos colours.
Broncos Travis Waddell and Herman Ese’ese, who are also aligned with the Magpies, are also in England.
Souths Logan coach Josh Hannay said the game would be strong preparation for his players after they beat Tweed Heads 32-6 last weekend.

What did master-coach Wayne Bennett say to Magpies mentor Josh Hannay?
“The quality of the Broncos is a step up so it will be a good challenge for us,” Hannay said.
“It will give us a good idea of where we’re at playing against a bigger, faster team.
“It will be a good test for our boys to play against the calibre of some of their players and not get flustered.”
Hannay said he was pleased with where his squad was at this preseason.
“The squad’s going well — we had a good hitout against Tweed,” he said.
“We got through the game without any injuries, which is the most important thing and is refreshing given the run with injuries we had last season.
“I thought our attacking structures against Tweed were very good — we stuck to our guns well and put pressure on them.
“I thought we also defended our line well, which is reflected in the scoreline.
“Their try came with only about 10 minutes left.”
Kick-off for tonight’s game is at 6pm.
The Broncos under-20s will clash with the Gold Coast Titans under-20s at 4pm.
