A young Logan father has been sentenced after drunkenly smashing his way into a popular burger restaurant during the early hours of Christmas Day, causing more than $30,000 worth of damage.

Quiess Jasper Pharr, 23, pleaded guilty to one charge of enter premises and commit indictable offence by break at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on June 21.

The court heard Pharr had no recollection of smashing down the front door of Bundy’s Burgers at Slacks Creek after midnight on Christmas Day in 2022.

A Police Prosecutor said Pharr destroyed a combination fridge, a commercial oven and left the property in complete “disarray”.

“There were items and food thrown across the floor and his blood was found at the scene,” she said.

“He was arrested nine months after the incident and told police he was intoxicated but must have been there if his blood was there.

“It is a serious offence based on the more than $30,000 of damage caused, he has affected someone’s livelihood.”

Pharr had been sentenced at the court in 2023 for committing a public nuisance offence, the court was told.

Pharr’s lawyer, Ms Larkin, said he was binge drinking at the time of the offending.

“He has no memory of his offending and no longer binge drinks,” Ms Larkin said.

“At the time he and his partner were homeless with a brand new baby.”

Magistrate Tracy Mossop said Pharr’s offending would have ruined the business owner’s Christmas.

“Getting people out to repair at that time of year is very difficult,” she said.

“You have two page criminal history that tells me you have some excessive youth offending and a probation order.

“You should’ve been playing Santa at home, not smashing a business.”

Pharr was sentenced to serve a two year probation order.

No conviction was recorded.
