The Queensland Industrial Relations Commission has made its ruling in an industrial relations case brought by former Logan City Council CEO Sharon Kelsey, but has suppressed the outcome while a criminal case involving seven former councillors and the ex-mayor proceeds.
It is still unknown whether the commission ruled in favour of Ms Kelsey or dismissed the case and ruled in favour of the council, exonerating the eight former councillors.
However, Logan social media pages said it would be a Happy Easter for the seven former councillors and ex-mayor.
Councillors Cherie Dalley, Russell Lutton, Steve Swenson, Laurie Smith, Phil Pidgeon, Trevina Schwarz, Jennie Breene and ex-mayor Luke Smith were co-respondents in the case.
On April 26, 2019, the then mayor Luke Smith and the seven councillors were charged with fraud on the basis that they caused detriment to Ms Kelsey.
That case against the councillors is ongoing.
