The Marsden Mako’s grand-final appearance was no surprise to the 10 piece line, who have been out and about drumming up support and honing their performance skills at community events all year.

MARSDEN SHS COACH REFLECTS ON TEAM’S SEASON AFTER GRAND FINAL LOSS

Marsden teacher Alex Barry, who again had his drummers in fine form this afternoon at the NRL Schoolboy Cup final won by Kirwan SHS, has been responsible for finding events for the group to perform at all year.

“Marsden State High School Drumline is very proud to support the Marsden Mako’s at the National QLD Schoolboy Cup grand final,” Ms Barry said.

“We have a range of students playing in the drum line from years 7-12 with some kids being a part of the group for more than 5 years.”

Under the direction of professional drumming teacher, Randal Scheerle, the drum line will continue to gain valuable experience at performances and other community events.
