A multi-vehicle crash south of Brisbane on the M1 northbound lanes at 9am is still causing major traffic congestion as emergency crews deal with patients and try to clear the road.
Fire fighters, ambulance and police are at the scene of the five-vehicle crash under the Grandis St overpass at Tanah Merah.
Police believed there were two separate incidents, one involving a truck and two semi-trailers and another involving two cars.
It was believed the two-car crash was triggered by the truck collision. Up to 10 people were hurt, all with minor injuries.
One stable patient was transported to Logan Hospital.
Another female patient was assessed by ambulance services and determined stable at the scene, while two other patients declined treatment or transport.
Traffic on the northbound lanes has backed up, with two lanes closed.
A police media spokesman asked motorists to exercise caution and patience.
