A young couple has been left distraught after returning home from an Easter camping trip to find their new dream home had been ransacked, with theives taking everything they could — even baby photos, toilet paper, cleaning products, cutlery and cushions from the lounge.

The Proctor Circuit property at Logan Reserve was one of three that faced similar fate over the Easter weekend.

Tenant Nik Parry, 24, and his partner Helora Martin, 26, who both work in the mines had 99 per cent of their belongings stolen amounting to more than a $25,000 loss.

The couple had left their home to go on a four-day camping trip and when they returned home on Easter Monday, on Ms Martin’s birthday, they opened the door to a barren mess.

Mr Parry said he had moved into the property five weeks before the break in, which has left him “with nothing and devastated”.

“My partner is a backpacker from France who was living in her car so we saved all we could scrounge together to secure the home,” Mr Parry said.

“We furnished the place and made it a home and we were so happy.

“I have lost everything including a brand new Kawasaki Ninja motorbike I had for three weeks I rode once,” he said.

The burglar smashed photo frames on the floor and took with them the couple’s baby and family photos.

“I don’t see any reason in this, I think this is someone being spiteful for the thrill of doing something to ruin someone's life,” Mr Parry said.

“They cleared our fridge and freezer, our bathroom and work clothes.

“CCTV captured a stolen car from our street driving erratically, which is where we reckon all our stuff was placed.

“I have spent hundreds of dollars now securing our home with cameras and new locks as they also stole keys, I’m trying to make my partner feel safe,” he said.

Mr Parry immediately called police who took forensic prints and are investigating the incident.

A Queensland Police spokesman investigations into the incident were ongoing.

A family member has set up a GoFundMe page to support the couple with financially recovering from this tragedy.

“Both of them are hard workers and they worked really hard to be able to afford the lease and everything in the house to start living in it,” a family member said.

“It’s really not fair,” she said.
