A Springwood family is facing a devastating Christmas after fire ravaged the unit they had called home for 17 years, leaving them with nothing.
The blaze broke out at the Barbaralla St property about 9.15am on Tuesday, December 19, destroying the entire top floor of the unit.
The property had been the home of a mother and daughter for nearly two decades.
They lost everything in the inferno, including all of their Christmas presents.
A friend of the family, Daisy Hill’s Remy Zorn, set up a GoFundMe to help raise some much needed funds to support the family.
“They have lived here for 17 years and the inside of the property and their items have been destroyed,” Mr Zorn said.
“If you have anything to spare, even if it’s $1 to help them for Christmas, that would be absolutely amazing”.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said there were no injuries or pets harmed.
