When a Logan man’s storage shed was raided by police they allegedly found drugs, counterfeit money and an instruction book on cooking methamphetamine, a court has heard.

Liam Patrick Meden, 21, applied for bail in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on July 9 charged with trafficking dangerous drugs, making counterfeit money and publishing or possessing instructions for producing dangerous drugs.

No plea has been entered.

The Yarrabilba man was also charged with possessing dangerous drugs and unlawful supply of weapons.

The court heard that on July 4 at a storage shed in Moorooka police uncovered fake money, financial documents and an eftpos machine linked to Mr Meden.

Police also allegedly found a book titled Secrets of Methamphetamine Manufacture as well as mobile phones with encrypted messaging apps, a set of scales and a pipe containing smoke residue.

The court heard Mr Meden used the encrypted apps Signal, Telegram and Theema to buy prescription medications and negotiate prices with customers.

On May 17 Mr Meden allegedly offered to sell rifles and kilos of methamphetamine and cocaine to users on the apps.

Police prosecutor Kirsten Gudzinski said Mr Meden left a bag containing 20g of party drug MDMA at a McDonald’s in Kallangur on June 11, 2024.

“Police located a bag containing 20g of MDMA, a small quantity of pharmaceuticals, cannabis and black identity cards,” she said.

“The defendant was also located with a black mobile phone which contained encrypted messages, showing him sourcing and supplying MDMA, methamphetamine, cocaine and prescription medications.

“He was arranging drug supplies, advertising product and negotiating prices.”

The court heard on May 17, Mr Meden allegedly arranged to sell shotguns and handguns for up to $15,000.

Defence lawyer James Torcetti said his client was not actually trafficking the large amounts suggested by the messages.

“The messages show him talking a bigger game then he is capable of,” he said.

“We are awaiting a drug analysis certificate to determine the exact quantity of the drugs.”

Magistrate Michael O’Driscoll denied bail and said Mr Meden is an unacceptable risk of committing further offences

The matters were adjourned to Beaudesert Magistrates Court, as Yarrabilba falls under the Beaudesert jurisdiction.

The next mention will be on July 23.
