A Logan mother of four with a history of unlicensed driving has faced court after she crashed a car then fled the scene.

Kimberley Jade Wallace, 24, pleaded guilty in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on June 18 to driving without a licence disqualified by a court order.

The court heard that on March 17, 2023 in Yarrabilba, Wallace was driving a black Mazda along Sigwell St at 11am when she crashed into another car.

Wallace then fled the scene and the incident was reported to police.

On December 24, 2023 Wallace reported to a police station and admitted she was involved in the crash and was driving unlicensed.

The court heard she was disqualified from driving for two years on August 28, 2022 in Richlands Magistrates Court and again on October 25 in Beenleigh Magistrates Court.

The court heard Wallace, from Crestmead, was a mother of four.

Defence lawyer Nicole Conlan said Wallace was not in the best head space at the time of the offending.

Magistrate Patrina Clohessy said three offences of driving unlicensed within a short period was concerning.

“You have completely flouted the orders of the court and the offence is aggravated by your two previous disqualifications,” she said.

“If you continue to do this you will be put in jail.

“You were involved in a traffic collision which you left the scene but I accept you then volunteered to police and took responsibility.”

Wallace was sentenced to a 12-month probation order and a conviction was recorded.
