A 32-year-old father of two has added to his history of driving stolen vehicles by abusing the property of three more drivers.

Justin Raymond Randall of Boronia Heights faced Beenleigh Magistrates Court on January 11 where he pleaded guilty to nine offences.

Most serious among them were three counts of unlawfully using a vehicle, an evasion offence and possession of dangerous drugs.

The court heard the former butcher drove stolen vehicles on three occasions between February 14 – September 11 last year; May 29 – June 3 last year and between February 26 – April 2 in 2020.

The serial vehicular crime followed a previous 12-month prison sentence for similar offending.

It also occurred in part while on probation for unlawful use a vehicle, according to police.

The defendant was charged with evasion for racing away from police on August 28 last year and was on October 20 found in possession of 191 grams cannabis.

Police prosecutor Tahlia Boettcher noted the “serious offending” came on the back of a five-page criminal history.

Randall’s defence solicitor Nick Crawford said the cannabis was for personal use and explained his client had completed a statutory declaration to fess up to evading police.

Acting magistrate Ross Woodford noted the combination of a “lengthy criminal history” and serious offending warranted a prison sentence.

Randall was sentenced to 12 months’ prison.

With 84 days’ pre-sentence custody declared, he was granted immediate parole release.

Randall was further disqualified from driving for two years.
