The Logan events community is still reeling after the death of Jimboomba woman Jayne Caswell, who died when she was pinned to a fence following a buggy crash on the family’s farm.

Ms Caswell, who started up the successful e-Kiddna Event Management business in 2000, was driving a Polaris farm buggy when it got bogged and somehow rolled down a slope, wedging her with force against a fence post.

Ms Caswell was on her own and died at the scene on July 3. She was 49.

Her heartbroken sister Jennifer Reeves gave comfort to family and friends saying her vivacious sister did not suffer and died instantly from the traumatic force of the accident.

A memorial service in the paddock near where Ms Caswell died will be held on the weekend with many Jimboomba identities and representatives from pioneering families expected to attend.

The Caswell family is well known in the Jimboomba area and related to the Begley family who built their business in the early 1900s.

The family was pioneers in the dairy and cattle industries and is now one of the turf merchants in the region.

“Where Jayne passed away is the most pristine country, down on the banks of the Logan River, so tranquil and peaceful,” Ms Reeves said.

“Jayne lived and breathed e-Kiddna Event Management since its inception almost 21 years ago.

“e-Kiddna was Jayne’s wonderful creation and everything she did with the business she did with excellence – we often chuckled about her ‘disease to please’.

“Jayne was not only my sister, but my best friend and business partner. Now the sun still rises each morning and we wake up with the sad and surreal reality that Jayne is no longer with us.”

Ms Caswell, who married and had two daughters, Sarah, 22, and Penny, 10, started her business from humble beginnings, when her oldest daughter had just turned one.

The business took off and Ms Caswell recruited her sister Ms Reeves and the pair built up a loyal clientele through referrals, a testament to Ms Caswell’s reputation and high standard of work.

Ms Reeves said she was planning to make her sister’s send off an event in-line with her sister’s business standards on the family’s Jimboomba property on July 17.

“When planning Jayne’s funeral, I could feel her encouraging me to run it as an event in true e-Kiddna Event Management style,” Ms Reeves said.

“We are all coming to terms with the heartbreaking reality that darling Jayne is no longer with us.

“We all think a wonderful way of honouring and celebrating Jayne’s life is for her memorial service to be carried out in true e-Kiddna Event Management style.”

The service will take place in a picturesque paddock, and those attending have been told to wear boots and bring a hat and sunglasses.

Food and beverages will be served after the service.
