Tokyo Olympic prospect Ashley Moloney, the world under 20 decathlon champion, rubbed shoulders with Sunnybank Little Athletics Centre’s Sophie Bingham.
Moloney, tall, broad shouldered and a world champion and diminutive Bingham, slight but with the heart of Phar Lap.
Both have something in common — athletics.
Moloney is so good he smashed the junior world decathlon record at this year’s world championship and is on course to bean Olympian.

Bingham smashes her own milestones.
She has cerebral palsy and competes in the para category at her beloved little athletics centre.
And like Moloney, she wins medals and plenty of them.
Moloney spoke in glowing admiration of Bingham when the pair came together at the recent Quest Community Newspaper Sports Star award night.
Both are very much sports stars in their own right.
