They call themselves the invisible warriors. But this weekend a group of Australian women will tell their stories.
The information gathered will form the basis of a book by former principal Tracy Tully, called Veterans in Schools Alliance.
Ms Tully will compile the stories and then use them as a teaching resource when she travels to the US to visit educational organisations under an Austrade Export Market Development Grant.
“Many of these women were at the top of their careers serving abroad in dangerous situations in male-dominated roles and yet when they returned home, some felt they were unworthy,” Ms Tully said.
“These stories are told from their point of view and may throw light on what needs to change when women in uniform return home.”
■ Invisible Warriors: Untold Stories of Australian Women in Defence will be published next month by MRW Publishing, a Brisbane-based company which offers education for motivation and resilience for wealth.
